Student Success: Imperial College London's Mentorship Scheme

21 Nov 22

Karina in Year 12 has been accepted onto a mentorship scheme run by Imperial College London, one of the top medical schools in the world. Karina found the mentorship on her Year 12 Google Classroom and decided to seize the opportunity as she wishes to pursue a career in medicine. We are especially proud of Karina as she is the first Ruislip High School Sixth Form student to have been accepted onto this prestigious mentorship program.

Karina's mentor is a Foundation Year 1 Doctor working in Oxford. They will work with her, explaining how they got into medicine, how Karina could further her chances of being accepted to such a competitive university course, and explaining what life is like for someone in medicine.

Karina said “I am looking forward to learning what a career in medicine is like and how to create a successful application with support from my medical mentor. The programme will also provide support on work experience allowing me to gain further insight into a medical career. I am also excited to learn what my mentor’s life at medical school is like!"

Karina will be extremely well placed to follow her dream of becoming a doctor, thanks to all the additional work that she's putting in now.

Well done Karina!
