Safeguarding is of paramount importance and at Ruislip High School we endeavour to work closely with families to keep our children safe. Safeguarding is a central element of all schools’ statutory responsibilities. Ruislip High School is committed to ensuring students’ awareness is developed not only through our tutorial programme and RSE curriculum but also via our annual Safeguarding Week. During this week tutorials and assemblies focus on a variety of safeguarding issues and a host of expert speakers are invited to deliver age-appropriate presentations to our students.
Our safeguarding team works collaboratively with the other safeguarding teams in the Trust; half termly meetings are held to review practice and policies, ensuring the highest standard of care is provided for our students. All of our staff undergo safeguarding training and this is refreshed and renewed at regular intervals. The safeguarding team completes additional training in all aspects of safeguarding including prevent, domestic abuse, neglect and early help. The safeguarding team consists of the following members of staff:
Ms Marie Coltman - Deputy Headteacher and Designated Safeguard Lead
Mrs Joanne Stoodley - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Mr Adam Askin - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Mrs Martina Read - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Mr Andrew Lunnon - Safeguarding Governor
Should any parent or visitor have concerns about the welfare or safety of any child that attends Ruislip High School, they should contact our safeguarding team without delay at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This section of the website provides a directory of safeguarding support. Parents and students are encouraged to contact the school if there is a particular aspect of safeguarding that is not included that they would like further information on.
The ‘Online Advice’ and ‘Useful Contacts’ sections include an array of helplines for young people as well as guidance and advice for parents. As part of our #WakeUpWednesday campaign we add a new online safety guide every week for parents. This information covers a wide range of topics that equip parents with valuable safety tips on areas such as Minecraft, Zoom and TikTok.
As a school we are wholly committed to safeguarding our students so that they are resourceful, resilient and ready to make a valuable contribution to society.
