Christmas Community Event

On Tuesday 19th December, the Sixth Form team hosted a Christmas Community Event, for members of our local community. This annual event is always a festive highlight of the school calendar and it was wonderful to see so many of our community in attendance - with over 50 guests from our elderly community joining us for the occasion.

The evening is an opportunity for our Year 12 and 13 students to meet and serve members of the local community. Guests were greeted with a cup of tea or coffee, followed by food and a festive quiz, hosted by some of our Year 13 students.

The Sixth Form students did a fantastic job of greeting our guests and ensuring everyone had plenty to eat. Tia, Head Student, who hosted the quiz during the evening, said: “The Christmas community event is one of the main reasons I wanted to join the student leadership team. It is my favourite event on the Sixth Form community calendar and makes me so proud to be a part of this school.”

Ms Horton, Assistant Headteacher in charge of Sixth Form, said: “I truly love the Christmas Community Event. It has always made me feel so proud of the way our students come together and take ownership of hosting such a special event, that means so much to members of our community. It is a highlight of the calendar for so many of us.”

All of our guests had a fantastic time, with them all commenting that they cannot wait to see us next year and that the students were a credit to the school. Thank you to the Sixth Form team and students for hosting the event.
