Year 9 Battlefields
The annual Year 9 Battlefields Trip offers students a unique opportunity to explore First World War history firsthand. Students visit key sites in France and Belgium, including the Battle of the Somme, Tyne Cot cemetery and the site of the 1914 Christmas Truce. Expertly guided by former Deputy Headteacher David Rich, the trip brings history to life, deepening students' understanding of the war's impact. Other highlights of past trips have included: a visit to the Armistice signing site in Compiegne and shopping for Belgian chocolate.
