Safer Internet Week
Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively. This year the theme for Safer Internet Day was “All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online”.
Some of the activities students undertook this week were tutor activities that addressed topics such as having respect for others online. RHS Digital leadership team recorded an assembly about online relationships and interviewed Mr Elsby and Mrs Loizou who had brilliant advice on what to do and not to do online that all year groups watched during tuto time. The amazing digital leaders also shared new top tips on what to do and not to do online for every day of Safer Internet Week. On the 11th February 2022 the company BeSecureOnline spoke to all year groups about online safety which was age specific and addressed challenges students face online and what to do in these circumstances.
In KS3 Computer Science lessons all classes discussed what a healthy online relationship looks like. Classes also discussed key things students should be aware of and look out for online.
