Year 12 Work Experience Week

From Monday 9th June to Friday 13th June, 2025 our Year 12 students have been taking their learning beyond the classroom, as they take part in Work Experience Week. Students have embraced a range of exciting opportunities designed to give them a taste of working life and help shape their future aspirations. This comes at a point in the academic year when they are beginning to think about their Post-18 Options, and will very soon be beginning the UCAS process.

Students have attended placements as diverse as Hounslow Urban Farm and the Premier Inn Uxbridge, with students exploring careers in animal care, sports management, retail, education, law, healthcare and more. Each placement has offered valuable insights into different industries, helping students build confidence, develop key employability skills, and understand what it means to be part of a professional environment.

The Year 12 pastoral team have been in contact with each placement to check-in on our students during the week. Our students have received glowing feedback from employers, who have praised our students’ maturity, enthusiasm and willingness to ask questions and make the most of their time finding out about their placement environment. The Year 12 tutors have commented on how wonderful it has been to hear how well our students are representing themselves and the school, whilst out this week.

The students have also thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Max, C61, who worked at Uxbridge Football Club for the week, commented: “Work experience is so fun and I’m really enjoying my time at Uxbridge FC, working with the social media department. They’ve already asked me to come back after this week and do more work for them!

We would like to thank all the employers who have welcomed our students, and to Miss Bonny, who worked hard supporting our students. Miss Bonny was integral in the students securing and preparing for their placements. We look forward to hearing more about the experience when our Year 12s return to school.
