Year 12 Mock Interview Day
On Tuesday 24th June, 2025, RHS Sixth Form was delighted to host the first Year 12 Mock Interview since the pandemic. Each student took part in a 15-minute interview slot with external guests, including professionals from the NHS and construction industries. Students were well prepared and confidently answered a wide range of questions, demonstrating strong communication skills and ambition.
The purpose of the event is to give all students the opportunity to practice their communication and self-promotion skills, in preparation for interviews they may have to take as part of the post-18 options process. The questions asked by the interviewers were all focused on building the students’ confidence, when trying to explain their strengths and the qualities that would make them a top university candidate or the perfect fit for an apprenticeship or new job role.
The mock interviews provided invaluable practice, helping students build confidence and refine their responses ahead of real job and graduate opportunities. Our guests praised the students’ professionalism and drive, highlighting how these experiences are key to future success.
We were also pleased to have John Garner, Chair of Governors, join us in his new role as Careers Link, supporting both students and interviewers. This event was an important step in preparing our students for the competitive world beyond school, and we look forward to continuing to offer these vital career-building opportunities.
