Year 12 Biology trip to Spider Park

The Year 12 Biology students had an overwhelmingly positive experience on Tuesday, 18th November 2025, as they took part in the Climate Adaptation and Resilience project with the Let’s Go Outside and Learn team, alongside local park rangers and dedicated volunteers. Students enjoyed engaging, hands-on activities that brought classroom learning to life, gaining real world insight into how ecosystems respond to environmental change. They valued the opportunity to work with experts, explore local habitats, and contribute to meaningful conservation tasks. The day fostered curiosity, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for the vital role that communities play in protecting and adapting natural spaces for the future.

Later in the day, students participated in a series of creative workshops led by a local artist, where they were encouraged to develop their own visual responses to the theme of climate adaptation and resilience. These thought provoking sessions allowed them to engage with the topic in imaginative ways through planting wildflower seeds, exploring ideas around depaving, and taking part in climate themed games designed to spark reflection and dialogue. The workshops provided a dynamic blend of creativity, environmental awareness, and practical action.

Overall, the day was a highly enriching experience that deepened students’ understanding of climate challenges while empowering them to think critically, act responsibly, and become more resilient future stewards of the environment.
