Year 11 Art trip to the Tate Modern
Year 11 art students recently embarked on an inspiring trip to the Tate Modern, immersing themselves in a world of contemporary creativity that will undoubtedly shape their work for the months ahead. Exploring the vast Turbine Hall and diverse gallery spaces, students encountered bold installations, thought-provoking conceptual pieces, and striking works by internationally renowned artists. Seeing such a wide range of techniques, materials, and ideas in person encouraged them to think more ambitiously about their own projects, particularly as they begin developing ideas for their externally set task.
Despite persistent rain, the group also embraced the opportunity to view London’s iconic landmarks. Walking along the Thames, they admired the magnificent dome of St Paul’s Cathedral and caught sight of the towering The Shard rising through the grey.
The trip proved both creatively energising and memorable, strengthening their confidence and inspiring fresh ideas for their artistic journeys ahead.
