Senior Borough Athletics 2025
On Wednesday 7th May, 2025, Ruislip High School fielded a strong team at the 2025 Borough Athletics. The best of the best across Years 9 and 10 showed up to represent their schools across track and field events.
Year 9
With Year 9 experiencing the senior competition for the first time, both our boys and girls did really well across their respective events.
Within the team relays they showed great determination and spirit but unfortunately came up short. The year 9’s did take home medals with an extremely impressive gold from Hussein I (9A), with a whopping 1.68m jump. What made this even better was that Hussein showed excellent sportsmanship, even cheering on his final opponent when he made the jump.
Oscar W (9F), who is one of our top represented sports people across the school, scored a respectable bronze in the triple jump, with a distance of 9.67m. Bethany S (9B) overcame a second place heat to win the bronze in a highly competitive display.
Year 10
For their second year at the senior athletics, both the boys and girls teams did exceptionally well, with the boys coming in at 3rd overall.
Emma M (10B) produced an amazing 1500m run, she stayed with the group leaders and used her tactics well to kick on going into the 4th lap, by three quarters round, she was well in the clear for a straight finish at 5.39. Still on the track, Ava W (10B) produced a dominating performance for the 300m winning gold. Before the race there were some nerves, but Ava stuck to her own plan and it paid off magnificently.
To top the track events off the girls team of Imani E-B (10D) , Dani K (10F), Ava W (10B) and Holly M (10S) came 3rd to take the bronze. Charlie R (10D) kicked things off for the boys with a stunning gold in the 800m’s. Matthew H (10D) also dominated in the 200m sprint winning gold. Defending champion Callum M (10B) returned in the discus and successfully defended his title to win gold at a distance of 29.89m and finally Harley B (10C) came 3rd in the high jump to secure bronze with a jump of 1.45 meters.
Every pupil was a credit to the school on the day and performed impeccably - well done to all of the students who took part in the competition. You are all true athletes!
