RHS Superstar: Maddox Paddles His Way to Success!
We are thrilled to share some fantastic news about one of our Year 9 students, Maddox, who is making waves in the world of long-distance kayaking.
Maddox races for the Ealing Canoe Club and has had a remarkable season. At the Reading Hasler on Sunday, July 6th, he secured a second-place finish in a long-distance kayaking event, earning a silver medal for his team. This was Maddox's first-ever medal at a sports event, and he completed the two-mile Geoff Sanders B race in an impressive 24 minutes and 54 seconds.
The Geoff Sanders Series is designed to introduce young paddlers to marathon racing, and Maddox has certainly excelled. He continued his success over the summer holidays, competing in the Richmond Hasler and Hurley Hasler 2 races, where he won two gold medals.
Congratulations, Maddox! We are incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to celebrating your future successes.
