RAG Week 2025
This week, RHS has been buzzing as we celebrated RAG Week 2025, fundraising for the mental health charity Mind. Run by our Sixth Form Student Leadership Team, the week has been full of fun events, fostering a sense of community across the school. From Monday onwards, students and staff have taken part in a range of activities including a penalty shoot out, a competitive netball shoot out, and a hilarious water race that had everyone cheering.
The highlight of the week has undoubtedly been the ever-popular ‘Sponge the Teacher’ event. Spirits were high as students lined up for a chance to soak their teachers (and potentially settle a few scores). A whole host of teachers volunteered to get a sponge to the face, from Head of Sixth Form, Mr Peacock to English Teacher, Ms Rickards. On Tuesday afternoon, the roster even included Mr Davies, who volunteered and took every sponge in good humour - much to the students’ delight. And although he didn’t actually volunteer, even Mr Collins found himself taking part, when a student with slightly off aim, completely missed their target and hit Mr Collins instead!
RAG Week is not just about fun, but also about community spirit and raising money for charity. We’re incredibly proud of our Sixth Form Student Leadership Team for their energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the week. The week would not have been a success without their tireless volunteering throughout the week.
Amber, Head Student, said: “RAG Week has always been such an incredible week at RHS, where true community spirit gets shown. This one was incredibly important to me as Head Student, where I wanted to ensure the week ran as smoothly as possible. I am really lucky to have such wonderful students with me on the Student Leadership Team - thanks to our excellent team work, the week has been a success. We hope every student who took part had fun, whilst raising money for a really important cause!”
We are proud to announce that their efforts raised an excellent £582, which will go to the charity Mind, who will use the money to support those who require support with their mental health issues.
