Northwest London Leadership Symposium

On Friday 23rd January, Head Student Amber M, alongside Deputy Head Students Ethan W and Pearl P, were invited to Northwood College for Girls to take part in the inaugural Northwest London Leadership Symposium. This event brought together student leaders from independent and state schools across Hillingdon.

The day kicked off with a welcome and introduction, followed by an engaging session titled “Leading from the Front, Back and Everywhere in Between: How to Lead Your Peers”, which explored different leadership styles and the importance of collaboration and adaptability. This was followed by a networking break, giving Amber, Ethan and Pearl the chance to meet and share ideas with fellow student leaders from across the borough.

In the afternoon, the students attended a session on “Making an Impact and Tackling Issues Affecting Us” led by David Simmonds CBE MP, Conservative Member of Parliament for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner. During this session, the students discussed a range of issues affecting young people today, including safe transport, antisocial behaviour, engaging young people in politics, and environmental concerns. Amber, Ethan and Pearl confidently shared their views and presented alongside student leaders from across the borough.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for our student leaders to strengthen their leadership skills, amplify student voice, and engage with peers and community leaders. We are extremely proud of their achievements and the way they showcased the strength of student leadership within our school.
