Drama Trip to The Globe Theatre

On Monday 16th June, 2025, our Year 10 and Year 12 Drama students had the exciting opportunity to visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, to watch a live performance of The Crucible. It was an unforgettable experience of watching a powerful piece of theatre in an iconic venue.

One of the purposes of the trip was to support students in their GCSE and A Level Drama studies, providing them with valuable material to refer to in their written exams. Seeing a professional performance live gave students a chance to deepen their understanding of character, staging, and performance style, which are all key components of their assessments.

The performance itself was intense and thought-provoking, offering students a vivid interpretation of Miller’s classic play.

Katie, Year 12, said: “Going to The Globe is always a really immersive experience. It makes me feel really connected to the history of theatre.”

A big thank you to all staff who supported the trip and to the students for continuing to be an engaged group of students, who clearly love the chance to explore Drama beyond the classroom.
