Chemistry Olympiad
On Thursday 28th of January, thirteen of our sixth form chemistry students participated in this year’s Chemistry Olympiad competition. Three Y13 students and ten from Y12.
This prestigious competition is run by the Royal Society of Chemistry and in the first round, consists of a 2 hour theory exam. The written paper is acknowledged to be exceptionally challenging as it routinely asks questions that are beyond any recognised A-level specification. Successful students who score above a certain number of marks can gain bronze, silver or gold award certificates.
Good luck to all those students that took part and we look forward to finding out how well our students have done when the grade boundaries and final results are released in several months time.
