Transition 2022

We are delighted that your child will be joining Ruislip High School and would like to take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to all our new students and their families. The school first opened its doors in 2006 as a school both in, and for, its community and this community ethos is at the very heart of everything we do. We have high aspirations for all our students and a clear belief that the way to reach these high aspirations is through having exceptionally high expectations. Our mantra of hard work equals success permeates the school and we look forward to working with you to provide a broad and ambitious education for your child. We very much regard parents/guardians as a vital part in working with us to ensure that your child achieves their potential.

We are conscious that starting secondary school is a significant change for students and families, and we are committed to ensuring that the transfer between schools is as smooth as possible. Throughout the summer term we will send reminders of events and key dates, together with links to useful documents. All of these will be sent by email, so please ensure that you update us with any changes to your email address. A member of senior staff will visit your child at their primary school and provide them with the Ruislip High School transition booklet. Your child will also spend the day at Ruislip High School on Tuesday 5th July 2022 and there will be a meeting for parents in the evening of this date.

There are seven tutor groups in Year 7; three of the tutor groups will study French whilst the other four will study Spanish. Should you have a preference for your child to study one of these languages, please notify Ms Coltman, Deputy Headteacher, via email (, by Friday 27th May 2022. Whilst we will do our best to accommodate such requests, please be aware that it is likely to affect groupings of students recommended by primary schools.

Please complete the Student Information Form (click here) and the Ruislip High School Home School Agreement (click here) by Friday 27th May 2022. It is very important that you provide all the information requested to enable us to contact you whenever necessary.

Finally, we would encourage you to look at the latest newsletter on our website (click here) in order for you to find out more about the recent experiences of students at Ruislip High School. Should parents/guardians require any assistance, at any time throughout the transition process, please do not hesitate to contact Ms Coltman, Deputy Headteacher, via
