Sixth Formers taste life at University

Year 12 Sixth Form students from Ruislip High took part in a University experience day on Friday 19th October. Half of the year group visited Royal Holloway, University of London, while the other half travelled to the University of Reading. Both groups experienced a lecture theatre talk about University life and had a full tour of the campus including seeing the students’ union and halls of residence.

Matt Voller, a student ambassador from the University of Reading, said, “The Ruislip High students represented their school brilliantly and asked lots of interesting questions. As always we hope there will be some applications from your school.”

A Ruislip High Year 12 student said, “We heard about all the different courses available and how University students learn. At their lectures we were surprised to hear that the students were allowed to make notes on their phones or tablet computers. We also had some tips on student finance and were quite impressed by the halls of residence which were really modern. The campus too was lovely with lots of open spaces.”
