Sixth Form Guest Speakers - Spring Term 2022
Sixth Form students have enjoyed a diverse range of external speakers in the spring term. The Guest Speaker programme is an official part of the Year 12 timetable every fortnight.
Guest speakers this term have included: Isobel Jacobs from Animal Aid; Jeff Markham from Cardiac Risk in the Young; David Cryer from Humanists UK; Seb Markowski, former Ruislip High student and apprentice engineer with Aecom; Oliver Cooper, Connor Tiernan and Melanie Barker from Mace Construction.
Each talk is based around one of the ‘3Cs’ of careers, current affairs and culture. The summer term programme will start with a visit from Chris O’Shea, Group Chief Executive of Centrica.
A Year 12 student said, “The Guest Speaker programme is a great extra in our Sixth Form. In particular this term we have enjoyed hearing from Seb, a former Ruislip High student. It was interesting to find out what life has been like for school leavers after the pandemic, and it was cool to note that Seb now has a degree apprenticeship with a big company.
